Large-scale Russian Strikes Disrupt Power Across Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure targeted in the region
The country's power facilities have come under escalating attacks in the past few days

Overnight, Russian aerial assaults have caused blackouts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were hurt while residents in eastern neighborhoods were plunged into darkness and faced problems to water supplies, according to city officials.

Meanwhile, a young boy was killed in a different assault in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southern area, as reported by regional authorities.

Moscow has intensified assaults on power infrastructure over recent weeks, while officials has demanded "concrete actions" from international partners to exert influence on Russia.

"What's needed is not symbolic gestures but firm measures - from the United States, the EU and the G7 - in supplying protection systems and implementing restrictions," he wrote in a online statement.

Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and several dozen rockets attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Russia was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were working to fix the damage.

A series of attacks struck power facilities and residential structures in the capital.

Multiple people injured in the assaults on the capital have been transported for medical care, per statements from local officials.

Area administrators said the urban area came under significant strikes during nighttime hours. A young boy lost their life and multiple civilians were hurt.

The assaults come after nights of air raids in the region, sections of which are occupied by Russian forces.

All of Ukraine is on alert for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to spot.

Government officials told reporters that Moscow was purposely seeking to damage the country's energy grid, with strikes already affecting gas facilities.

Officials stated utility staff and authorities were preparing for further attacks.
