Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been won on hardcourt
A comeback Medvedev secured his initial trophy for nearly 30 months with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament title decider.
Medvedev, a former number one, has endured a torrid season, achieving just one win at the big events and undergoing a difficult moment at the American major.
His unpredictability on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his service game in particular - resulted in him falling of the world's top 10 and finally separating with long-time coach Gilles Cervara.
Now working with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently improved in the last few weeks - culminating in a hard-fought three-set victory over Frenchman Moutet.
It is his maiden championship since the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard surface after spring of the previous year.
Success also means the Russian has secured 21 titles at 21 distinct tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I'm at a competition with my both daughters at once, so to secure a title is really nice," commented ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in tribute of my child her name, because the initial championship I achieved when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had been defeated in his last six finals, featuring in the German tournament previously this season.
His counter-punching play style and recurring emotional displays on the tennis court had prompted observers to wonder if his ability to compete at the highest level was finished.
However the 29-year-old has made changes in the last few weeks, making an effort to come to the net and compete aggressively, supported by an better serving game.
The champion fought back from a disadvantage in the first set against the difficult opponent, winning 4 of the last five points to gain the advantage.
The competitors exchanged service breaks in the following set before the challenger, attempting for his initial professional title, seized the initiative to force a third set.
He saved four early break points in a close final set before the Russian broke to that score to secure the win.
Fittingly, Medvedev clinched victory with a rally at the front of the court, with the Frenchman incapable to manage a return after over two and a half hours.
